Nancy Smith, Harford County Public Library

Rockstar Librarian, September 2011!

Nancy from Harford County earned this award for her outstanding work with a student who was writing a research paper on the Mughal empire. Her thoroughness and professionalism really shined in this question. Nancy was honored on Tuesday, September 27, 2011 with a celebration at her branch (photo to come).

We also wish to acknowledge Mimi from Montgomery County, nominated by Megumi Lincoln, for her excellent work in following up what should have been a simple transaction with a patron looking for a couple titles for her seven year old. The original librarian was not very helpful, however, Mimi’s prompt follow up, attention to detail and compassion made a huge difference in the life of a family going through a difficult ordeal.

Both Nancy and Mimi will received letters congratulating them and their respective directors received similar letters.The Stellar Transcript Review Team expects to announce the next winners in early January 2012.
